How to Join Skimums

Skimum_Ticket_smCome ski with us!  SkiMums is not a club or sorority. There are no applications to fill out, no annual fees and no crazy initiation ceremonies.  We just needed to call it something to block out our calendars (“Oh, sorry, I have to be somewhere.”)  It’s pretty casual. Just show up ready to ski and have fun. Unless the weather is awful, we meet each Wednesday morning at 9:30am (from January-March) at the bottom of the Gadzoom lift. We’ll ski until …whenever (or have to get to work, pick up the kids or dry cleaning). As we grow our little group, we sometimes break up in to different groups based on skiing ability… or not.

Who?
Snowbird_Trail_SignsSkiMums is intended for intermediate-to-advanced women skiers at Snowbird.  We ski all over the mountain.  Know your abilities and comfort levels. If you want to try and bail, that’s fine.  SkiMums are not instructors or guides, but we know great instructors at the Bird if you want to improve.

We are mostly a bunch of local women (yes, we’ve heard The Real Housewives of Utah jokes), but spouses, adult kids and out-of-town friends are always welcome to come. Several of our working gal pals take a morning here and there to join us (ask Banker Nicole and Doctor Liz).

How Much?
There is no cost for SkiMums. However, to ski Snowbird, you will need to purchase your own lift ticket.  Be sure to look into the early season discounts offered by Snowbird and season passes by clicking here.

Benefits?
The greatest benefit to SkiMums is enjoying time on the slopes with friends.  Beyond that…there are also a few fringe benefits:

Contacts  There are a LOT of other women who love to ski the Bird.  They also like to do a lot of other fun things around town, on the trail and up the mountain.  SkiMums have introduced others to great restaurants, ski shops, hiking trails and other activities, such as mountain biking and rock climbing.
